Mrs. Janelle Hankamp To All Instructors

Hi! I'm Janelle, mother to Thea and Elaina. My girls are excited for their third year at Illuminate this year! I am a former resource room teacher. I used to work in special education teaching small group lessons in reading and math. Since leaving public education I still find joy in teaching my own children. I have offered to teach phonics at Illuminate for the third time, this time offering two levels in hopes to better tailor the lessons to meet student needs. I love spending time with the students here and getting to know each of their unique personalities. In phonics we do a mixture of whole group and small group activities that usually focus on the "sound of the week". I know reading isn't everyone's cup of tea- but I sure do try to make it fun!
