Q:

What day of the week does The Well Homeschool Community meet?

A:

The Well meets weekly on Fridays for community in class or on educational field trips.
 

Q:

How long is a day at The Well Homeschool Community?

A:

We meet 9AM-12PM. Following class, we enjoy more fellowship over picnic lunches outside. 6 weeks of each semester are Elective classes. If you choose to participate, they begin after lunch, from 1PM-4PM.

Is The Well Homeschool Community a drop off program?

A:

No. The Well Homeschool Community is a parent led community.

Q:

What ages can attend The Well Community?

A:

The Well is for ages 4 to 17 years. Younger siblings (2-3 years old) may attend as a sibling add-on. (Details are explained in our Parent Handbook.)

Q:

Will the Well Homeschool Community teach my child the core subjects?

A:

No. The Well is a supplement to your family’s homeschool. We focus on the beauty subjects of Scripture Memory, Hymns, Bible, Art, Science, and Public Speaking.

Q:

How do I join The Well Community?

A:

We ask that you reach out to our Director Hannah Hernandez before completing the following:
- Submit an online application along with a $50 deposit. (Remainder of tuition due by August 1st)
- Provide a letter of recommendation from your Pastor or Ministry Leader
- Provide a letter of recommendation from a current homeschool mom from The Well Homeschool Community

Q:

Is The Well Community faith based?

A:

Yes! We are faith based and require a recommendation letter from a pastor or spiritual leader for your family to join. We do learn hymns and memorize a passage of scripture in our morning assembly time and then we have a dedicated 30 min bible teaching time for all classes.

Q:

What kind of field trips does our community provide?

A:

Our field trips vary greatly from year to year but we do try to keep them educational, affordable and reasonable in distance from LaGrange. This 2025-26 year we will have 4 field trips and 2 career days. 
Some field trips we have taken in the previous years includes: Beeweavers, The State Capital, Natural Science Museum in Houston, Austin Zoo, Mckinny Roughs Park, Texas A&M Gardens, Camp Mabry Museum, Deeply Rooted Ranch in Burton.

What kind of electives are provided throughout the year?

A:

Our electives vary each semester and are dependant on availability of someone teaching the elective.
Some electives we've been able to offer in the past: Spanish, sewing, bible drill, cooking around the world, cooking eggs with science, P.E. (a different sport focus each week). We hope to continue offer fun and unique classes in the future!
