Behavior Policy
Expectations
- Respect: Treat all students, instructors, and staff with kindness and respect. Bullying, harassment, or disruptive behavior is not tolerated.
- Cooperation: Follow instructions from instructors and staff, and engage positively in group activities.
- Responsibility: Take care of co-op property, clean up after activities, and use materials appropriately.
- Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines, including staying in designated areas and reporting concerns immediately.
Consequences
- First Offense: Verbal warning and discussion with the student and parent/guardian.
- Second Offense: Written warning and a meeting with the co-op coordinator and parent/guardian.
- Repeated Offenses: Possible suspension or dismissal from the co-op, determined by the co-op leadership.
Positive Reinforcement
Students demonstrating exemplary behavior may be recognized through praise, awards, or special responsibilities.
This policy ensures a supportive community where everyone can thrive.
Illness Policy
To ensure a healthy and safe environment for all members of our homeschool co-op, we ask families to adhere to the following illness policy:
- Stay Home When Sick: If a student, parent, or teacher exhibits symptoms of illness (e.g., fever, cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious conditions like pink eye or lice), they must stay home until symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication, or as advised by a healthcare provider.
- Accidents: Any accidents should be reported to the Administration. Parents must be notified.
- Bodily Fluids: Only adults will deal with bodily fluids. Gloves will be used when dealing with blood.
- Special Needs: If you have a child with special needs, such as dyslexia, a medical condition, or food allergies/restrictions of which Support Group and Co-op should be made aware, please indicate that on the Medical Release/ Liability form and inform teachers.
- Medicine: No medicine will be administered without consent.
