CHEACC

Q:

How much does it cost to become a member?

A:

  1. Annual Family Membership ($45): Our annual membership dues are $45. (If you are joining between April 1 and June 30, we offer a reduced initial membership fee, explained below.)
  2. Partial Membership ($30):  If you are joining CHEACC for the first time between April 1 and June 30, your dues will be $30 for the remainder of the school year. Keep in mind, our membership year begins July 1, at which all current members are charged the annual renewal amount of $45. (If you're joining for the first time, click "join" and follow the prompts.)

Q:

How do I sign up?

A:

Go to www.cheacc.org, and, at the top of the page, click "Join", (or click the image "join" at the middle right of the page.) Enter the necessary fields (including checking the box that you have read and agree to our Terms of Service).

After you enter your family information, you will be asked to create a user name and password.  By the way, the family information can only be viewed by other CHEACC members -- it is not accessible to the general public.

Following that, you'll be asked to choose how you'd like to receive your emails and classified notices -- either immediately as they're posted, or in a digest form at the end of the day.

Next, click "continue" and it will take you to the payment screen.

Once your membership request has been received, and payment has been confirmed, your membership will be approved.  You will receive a membership confirmation via email.  After that, you'll be good to go.  Just go back to the web-site and log-in using the ID and password you created.  You'll now have full-access to the web-site and all its features.

Q:

Why should I join FPEA (Florida Parent-Educators Association)?

A:

Connection to Experts

The FPEA delivers personal access to District Directors. Just a call or a click away, these experienced homeschoolers answer questions, offer encouragement, communicate timely information and identify trends.

Your FPEA District Directors also work with you in dealing with local school officials, making sure homeschool laws are understood and followed.

The FPEA Guide to Homeschooling in Florida (free access for members) keeps 100-plus pages of expert advice at your fingertips. Also, the members-only FPEA Connect newsletter is packed with helpful articles.

Protection of Your Rights

The FPEA helps safeguard your legal right to homeschool by keeping its finger on the pulse of what’s happening in Tallahassee and Washington. The FPEA partners with the Home Education Foundation (a full-time lobbyist) and the Home School Legal Defense Association. The annual FPEA Day at the Capitol shows legislators that homeschoolers have a united voice.

The FPEA organizes and promotes a statewide network of local homeschool support groups. The FPEA website is a one-stop shop for information on groups in your area and how to connect with them.

The annual FPEA Florida Homeschool Convention unites thousands of homeschoolers statewide. And FPEA-sponsored local conferences and events cover topics ranging from getting started to obtaining college scholarships.

Discounts and Opportunities

FPEA members receive a deep discount on registration for the annual FPEA Florida Homeschool Convention (and a free advance copy of the Convention program), discounts on educational merchandise from participating vendors, and savings on HSLDA membership.

The FPEA enables high school seniors to experience the joy of wearing a cap and gown at the FPEA Statewide Graduation Ceremony. Also, the FPEA Homeschool Foundation provides opportunities for college scholarships.
