FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
My child has never taken a formal test. How will they know what to do? Students begin their testing experience with a sample pretest which familiarizes the student with how to mark answers and follow the teacher's instructions.
Will my child’s Test Results be submitted to the district? No. Test scores are never submitted to the district but will be sent to you, the parent, directly. The district only receives the required Annual Evaluation Form (see next FAQ-Will my child’s Annual Evaluation Form be submitted to the district?)
Will my child’s Annual Evaluation Form be submitted to the district?
Yes, IF your child’s test results show that “progress was made,” AND that you selected “YES” on the registration form. It will simply have a check mark stating that your child was evaluated through testing and demonstrated progress; the district will NOT see the test results. Upon receiving your child’s Test Results, you will also be notified, and have in writing, that your child’s evaluation form was submitted to the district. This completes your annual evaluation requirement through the state of Florida. There will be no further action required on your part.
No, IF you selected “NO” on your child’s registration form. Their form will be discarded and will NOT be submitted to the district, even if test results show progress was made. Parents will be sent the test results.
My child’s Test Results show that “no progress was made” and I selected “YES” on the testing registration form. What happens next? If your child’s test results show that “no progress was made,” your child’s evaluation form will NOT be submitted to the district. You will be contacted directly (by Heidi Rhodes), and we can set up a portfolio review as an alternative if you prefer. Sometimes, progress was not demonstrated in just one subject area of the test such as Math, etc. If this is the case, you will only need to provide portfolio work samples from that particular subject, if the other subjects on the test showed that progress was made. If remedial support is necessary, options can be discussed over the phone.
ACT/SAT Test Score Review, High School Juniors/Seniors: High school juniors or seniors, who are dual enrolled in college courses or are using formal classes and have taken either the ACT or SAT, may provide ACT/SAT test scores along with passing grades in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Test Score Review: To set up a test score review, email Heidi Rhodes at HeidiMRhodes@gmail.com.
Pricing: $20
