GEORGETOWN CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS
Constitution and By-Laws
Article 1- Name and Purpose
Georgetown Christian Home Educators (hereafter referred to as GCHE) is a non-profit corporation formed and filed in the State of Texas.
Section B- Mission Statement
GCHE will be comprised of individuals or families interested in the concept of providing a Christ-centered education in the home. In view of the biblical imperative found in Deuteronomy 6: 4 - 9:
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
We seek to love God and keep His commandments. Our desire is to raise up and establish the foundations of many godly generations. We wish to raise children who are mighty in spirit, full of grace and truth. We seek to train up a generation who will exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, communicate biblical truth, and reject false suppositions, without shrinking back or wavering. By carefully and appropriately guarding the hearts of our children and diligently implanting in them the ways of eternal life, we seek to train children to be salt and light in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation in which they will shine like the stars of the universe. (Philippians 2: 15)
This may appear to be narrow and overly restrictive to the more "broad-minded" among our society, yet we are reminded in scripture to "Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road which leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate, and narrow is the road which leads to life and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7: 13, 14)
