Georgetown Christian Home Educators

Statement of Faith

1.    We believe that there is one living and true God; an infinite, intelligent Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence but eternally subsistent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

2.    We believe in the fall of man; although originally created in the image of God and in fellowship with God, through the disobedience of Adam, man fell into a sinful and spiritually impotent state, totally unable to justify himself before God.

3.    We believe that Jesus Christ is the express image of the invisible God, which is to say He is God; that He became man, yet without sin, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary of the Tribe of Judah; that He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin; that He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; that He ascended into heaven in the body glorified, where He is now, our interceding High Priest; and that He will return again personally, visibly, and gloriously.

4. We believe that salvation is wholly of God, by grace; that God in love gave His only Son to die on the cross for sin, thus procuring the redemption of those who come to Him; that this salvation is not merited in any way by man; that God commands men everywhere to repent of sin and believe in Christ; that those who do not repent and believe receive an eternal punishment in a literal hell; while those who do repent and believe receive an eternal salvation which is demonstrated by good works, and eternity in God's presence in a literal heaven.

5. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant work of God, and the only infallible guide for our daily lives, and of supreme and final authority in faith and life, and that we are born again by the living and abiding word of God.

6. We believe that children are gifts from God and that, as parents, we are fully responsible for their education, instilling Godly character, training our children by instruction and example to love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and to love their neighbors as themselves.

We affirm that we have read and agree with the GCHE Statement of Faith. We are providing our full names as our digital signatures.

Both husband and wife, as well as, each participating teenager/alumnni must read the following GCHE Constitution and By-laws and provide a digital signature affirming agreement.

GEORGETOWN CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS

Constitution and By-Laws

Article 1- Name and Purpose
Section A
Georgetown Christian Home Educators (hereafter referred to as GCHE) is a non-profit corporation formed and filed in the State of Texas.

Section B- Mission Statement
GCHE will be comprised of individuals or families interested in the concept of providing a Christ-centered education in the home.  In view of the biblical imperative found in Deuteronomy 6: 4 - 9:
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
We seek to love God and keep His commandments.  Our desire is to raise up and establish the foundations of many godly generations.  We wish to raise children who are mighty in spirit, full of grace and truth.  We seek to train up a generation who will exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, communicate biblical truth, and reject false suppositions, without shrinking back or wavering.  By carefully and appropriately guarding the hearts of our children and diligently implanting in them the ways of eternal life, we seek to train children to be salt and light in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation in which they will shine like the stars of the universe.  (Philippians 2: 15)
This may appear to be narrow and overly restrictive to the more "broad-minded" among our society, yet we are reminded in scripture to "Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road which leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate, and narrow is the road which leads to life and only a few find it.”  (Matthew 7: 13, 14)

Section C
The purpose of GCHE shall be to provide the opportunity for fellowship and exchange among home schooling families and those interested in home education through:
* Providing moral support in educational matters
* Exchanging resource and curriculum ideas
* Sponsoring field trips and group activities
* Establishing a network for communication of political and legal information
