Lori Bosse will present Dual Enrollment Questions Answered
Mary Odell will present Foundations for Writing Success.
Lori Bosse has been homeschooling for 19 years. She has graduated 2 students, and she is currently homeschooling a senior and a freshman. Three of her students have used the opportunity of dual enrollment successfully. Lori will help you navigate the steps, understand the process, and explain what she has learned through her own experience and those she has helped. She has gleaned a wealth of information and is excited to share her tips and strategies.
Mary Odell is a “graduated” homeschool mom of three children. Prior to homeschooling, she worked as a writer and editor for NASA, Microsoft, and the National Institutes of Health. A certified instructor for the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW), Mary has taught homeschool writing and English courses since 2005.
In an effort to give children a "jumpstart" on writing, many well-intentioned parents begin formal writing instruction early. However, beginning too early can actually hinder the vital language acquisition process that leads to mastery in written communication. Mary Odell will discuss strategies for preparing younger students so they are ready to achieve maximum success in writing when the timing is right. This topic applies to elementary-age students.

This gathering is for adults, but nursing babies are always welcome.
Childcare is provided for NHE members only at Northland Gatherings. Drop off begins at 6:30pm for Nursery through 5th grade. Sign your children up prior to Monday before the meeting by emailing lucee.price@gmail.com. A donation of $3 per child with a max of $9 per family is suggested and can be placed in the meeting room in the designated bowl.
