Big Band Rehersal

Add to Your Calendar: 05/18/2015 18:00 05/18/2015 20:00 America/Phoenix Big Band Rehersal

A dabble in the music arts is good for children of all ages.  I found a local big band group in Show Low - The White Mountain Big Band.  They will let us watch a rehearsal for their band for FREE.  It is a couple of hours exposure to a unique form of music that began in the 1920's and lasted well beyond the 1940's.  Many variations of big band survive to this date.  It is a wholly American born form of music.  It should be an evening of fun sure to inspire further study and enjoyment.  They use the Big Band style of music and play songs from the classic 30's through today's pop songs.  During rehearsal, songs may or may not be played through completely.  We will all get to see what it takes for a band to put all their songs in show condition.   It is casual, and there is plenty of seating.

Directions:  Go to the intersection of the Deuce of Clubs (60) and 77.  Turn to the south Porter Mountain Blvd.  Continue south passed the business park on the left.  Just passed E. Cooley you will see a blue roofed octagon shaped building on the left next to the Sheriff office.  I think this is the new Music Arts Building for Show Low.

Those of you who live on the other side of town, turn at the NavApache electric to Porter Mountain and go North towards 77.  The Music Arts Building will be on your right just before E. Cooley and the business park.
