Welcome Homeschool Group is a 501(c)(7) nonprofit social and recreational club for homeschooling families with children of all ages living in and around Alamance County North Carolina. Our goals are to provide encouragement and social support to homeschooling families of all faiths in a Christian setting, to promote interest and confidence in homeschooling, to facilitate access to educational, athletic, enrichment, celebratory, extracurricular programming, and community service opportunities for school aged members, to provide programming and event support for member organized events, and to provide a community of fellowship and support to homeschooling families using Biblical principals. We welcome families of all religions, sizes, and backgrounds, and we pride ourselves on our growing diversity as being representative of the changing socio-cultural dynamics of the homeschooling movement. Becoming a Member
Joining our group is as easy as filling out a membership request on our website, signing and agreeing to the group's liability waiver, and paying the annual membership fee of $30. The annual membership fee is good from August 1 of 2021 through July 31 of 2022, and entitles you to a private and secure website, complete with a family directory, a calendar of member organized and community events, a women's support group (Women of Excellence), a message board, guidance and assistance planning events that you want to offer to the group, and access to the social and educational activities organized by our members! Some events will necessarily have a size limit, so you are encouraged to choose to receive emails as they are sent, rather than daily or weekly, but this is a personal preference that can be adjusted within your member profile at any time. Our group is entirely volunteer run, and all of your fees are used to pay for and provide events for the group, as well as to cover the cost of our web hosting. As our group is entirely volunteer organized, all of our members are encouraged to participate in the variety of activities available on our private group calendar, as well as to assist in planning and organizing educational and recreational activities within the group itself.
Being mindful of local and state guidelines, we have returned to hosting group wide events for the 2021-2022 year. Should those guidelines change and group wide events no longer have access to public meeting facilities, individual members may choose to offer activities in their homes, churches, and private facilities. Welcome is a member driven group, and all activities are planned, organized, and facilitated by individual members.
