Membership / Joining SHINE



Joining the SHINE Support group allows you to take part in the various SHINE Ministries' activities throughout the year. The four main areas of support are: Parents' Support Ministry, Family Ministry, Teen Ministry and the Co-op Ministry.


We try to keep all members of SHINE informed of upcoming events and activities through the SHINE email list and forums on this website.


SHINE Email and Forums

You will begin to receive email and will be able to access/post in the forums once you become a member of the SHINE Support Group. These methods are used to share announcements, needs and encouragement within the members of the SHINE Support Group. This is our primary avenue for letting the group know about upcoming events.


Membership Directory


This is a confidential directory provided to members of SHINE to encourage communication and support within the group. This directory is available on the secure member's part of this website.


Teacher Card


Each member will be able to print out a Teacher Card from SHINE which will allow you to receive a discount on your membership to THSC as well as teacher discounts at many book stores.

Registration Process


We ask that you read our Statement of Faith and understand that this Statement of Faith is a reflection of the core beliefs of the general membership of our SHINE Homeschool Group. We ask that you agree to respect these beliefs both in word and deed when participating in any SHINE activity.


Registration for the SHINE support group is held in June of each year but families may still join throughout our fiscal year (June-May).The membership fee is described on the Request Membership Page. The fee will vary this year based on the ages/grades of your children. The fee will be between $80.00 and $120.00 for a family for a year.  

All SHINE members are required to sign up to help in a ministry area upon registration. As we are a volunteer group, our activities only happen with the help of all the members of SHINE participating.

If you choose to join the SHINE co-op or participate in various activities, there are additional fees. Please see the various ministry pages for more details.

You must read through and fill out online all the required SHINE Membership forms and pay the membership fee to join the group. This process is now all online. Once the online process is completed, you will need to attend a membership orientation. Meetings will be conducted as necessary. See calendar to sign up for one of the Membership Meetings if you would like more information before joining.


Your application will be reviewed and the Membership Director will follow up to answer any questions you may have and to notify you if your application is accepted.
