The CHEF Kickoff is one of the most anticipated events each year within the Baton Rouge homeschool community.  It is free for all homeschoolers and prospective homeschoolers in the greater Baton Rouge area.  Here you will find a wealth of information about homeschooling, legislative updates, information about the many athletic and academic offerings within CHEF, helpful and informative breakout sessions, a vendor hall, free lunch and much much more!  The CHEF Athletics programs, CHEF graduation and CHEF clubs will be represented in the vendor hall to answer questions about their programs, and give you a chance to sign up. You won't want to miss it!

The breakout sessions will include information about all aspects of homeschooling, including:

• Scholarships and TOPS
• How To Handle Transcripts
• Beginning Homeschooling
• What's at Your Library for Homeschoolers?
• Mom's Panel Q & A Session
• And much more!!

Free Childcare will be provided ONLY for children ages 4 and under from 8:30 AM - 12 PM. Children are welcome to attend the kickoff with their parents. 

When signing up for the kickoff, please list EACH person who will attend and if you need childcare for THAT person.  This will help us get an accurate count for lunch and for the childcare helpers. There is a seperate sign up page (see below) for students in grades K- 12 who would like to attend the kids sessions while their parents are attending the breakout sessions. In order for your children to participate, you must first register your family for the kickoff and then register your student for the student programs.

We also have activities for kids of all ages at the kickoff this year!
