Our SCCHE Boot Camps are different from workshops and clinics sponsored by professionals. We bring to you people from our group and our community, and we let you know of opportunities in our area, so what you learn about is more personalized than what is presented by professionals from other areas.

Our Boot Camps are four hours long. You bring your lunch, snacks, and drinks, and eat or drink while you are sitting there listening. You may take a restroom break at any time, but there are no scheduled breaks.

We use several different speakers, power points, and handouts to help you. Almost all our speakers have homeschooled at least one child all the way through high school, and some of us have graduated all our kids and are sticking around to help you make it through!

Topics covered will include

· Missouri Law

· Record-keeping

· Different philosophies of home schooling

· Learning styles

· How to get in those 1000 hours without losing your joy

· What to do with toddlers

· How to teach several children at once

· How to tell if your child needs academic intervention (Is it a learning disability or is my child just a late bloomer)

· And much more

If your child is in Preschool – grade 6, this event is for you! (The Middle School/High School Boot Camp will cover information for students grade 7-12.)

We will begin promptly at 10:00am and end as closely to 2:00pm as possible. There will be no scheduled breaks. Bring a lunch and eat whenever you wish. Participants will be seated at tables, to make note-taking simpler.

We are not set up to accommodate children, so we ask that you not bring children to this. Quiet nursing babies are welcome.
