SPRING FORMAL GUESTS

Family Education For Christ would like to welcomes you, as a guest, to

The L.O.F.T.

(L.O.F.T. = Living Our Faith Together)

The purpose of The L.O.F.T. is to create social opportunities for FEFC high school group members. Our goal is to be purposeful and intentional in our social interactions while having fun, building a group that glorifies the Lord in fellowship, service, and FUN! Once a year, our students are allowed to invite the guest of their choice to one event: The Spring Formal. Congratulations on being invited to this wonderful time!

The L.O.F.T. students are in 9th – 12th grades on a high school academic level. At FEFC, we seek to foster the practice of responsible Christian freedom. This freedom requires thoughtful, biblically-guided choices in everyday matters of behavior and interpersonal relationships.

The FEFC High School Group has been led by Jay and Stephanie Maupin since 2013. Last year, The L.O.F.T. included over 150 students, larger than some of our area’s private schools. With that in mind, we have had to adopt some practices to successfully accomplish our goals and ensure a safe, well-organized event that students will enjoy. Please read this carefully and be mindful that the decisions have been made in the best interest of the whole group. Participation in The L.O.F.T. is a privilege. Consequences, to be determined by FEFC leaders, will follow if the guidelines are not followed.

2017 - 2018 The L.O.F.T. GUEST GUIDELINES

2. *
  • Glorify God in your behavior at all times.
  • Willingly participate in group prayer.
  • Refrain from cursing, vulgar language / gestures, and taking the Lord’s name in vain.
  • Be respectful:
    • To Coordinators; Volunteers; and Peers.
    • That said, you may not understand or appreciate the decisions that are made, but you should know that decisions are considered for the well-being of the entire group.
  • Seek to actively welcome, be kind, and include everyone in our group. We do not tolerate cliques, drama, or gossip because these actions are not glorifying to God. We want this to be a fun, safe place for all of our students.
  • Focus behavior with others on friendship. This is not a dating service. PDAs are not tolerated.
  • Bullying or inappropriate behavior is not tolerated on any level.
  • Reflect the principles of modesty and personal dignity in appearance.
    • Undergarment straps should be covered. Back and mid-section must remain covered. Dresses with cutouts in the front or sides are not permitted. Strapless dresses are permitted as long as the ladies are modestly covered.
    • Slits: Must fall below fingertip length;
    • Pants / Shirts: Should be neither tight-fitting nor falling-off loose.
    • Students not complying will be sent home without refund, if applicable.
  • Siblings are not included. Our group is simply too large. If a sibling is brought to any portion of this event, you will owe the guest fee, since our group is charged in a similar manner.
  • Request permission from the Coordinators to leave the event. Do not leave the activity area without permission. Ask permission; not forgiveness. We do want to ensure that you are safe.
  • We require ALL students to sign into and out of events. Once signed out, they may not return to an event unless pre-arranged with the coordinators.
  • Abide by the rules of the Buddy System – never go anywhere alone, but in groups of three or more
  • Like Timothy, let’s take the Apostle Paul’s challenge to live according to a heavenly standard – a standard that brings honor to God!
