Tipton Area Christian Home Educators

"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates."
Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Tipton Area Christian Home Educators was founded in 1989 for the purpose of supporting families who educate their children at home.  Our goal is to enrich one another through shared group experiences within a Christian Atmosphere.

TACHE is a homeschool support group for families.  We believe the responsibility for the education of children is first and foremost ours as parents.  We believe that parental involvement in TACHE activities is vital and necessary.

TACHE is a forthrightly Christian organization.  We are a group oriented to supporting one another.  We offer enrichment activities for home school families.  We are not affiliated with any denomination or church.

Below are some examples of the group classes, activities and events that we participate in.

TACHE meets six Mondays for the fall semester and six Mondays for the spring semester.  These classes are offered/instructed by volunteer moms, current senior high students, and alumni!

There are a variety of classes offered each semester, and range from Drama Class to Cooking, to Arts and Crafts, and Math Games! Our classes are offered for the following groups: Nursery (birth-2), Preschool (3-5 yrs old), Elementary 1 (K-2nd grade), Elementary 2 (3rd-5th grade), Junior High (6th-8th grade) and High School (9th-12th grade).

TACHE is a volunteer organization.  It is only because of those willing to donate their service and talents that we are able to offer the things we do.

If your student is a senior and your family are active members of TACHE, having taken classes and participated in TACHE sponsored programs and events, you are welcome to participate in graduation. Graduation is always a collaborative effort that involves both students and parents.

We have several activity areas for moms to volunteer in!  As a TACHE mom we encourage you to peruse the list of activities to see if any of them interest you.  We also welcome other ideas for fun activities our group can enjoy together!  Some activities currently offered, and offered in past years include:

Geography Bee
Spelling Bee
Various Field Trips organized by members
Indiana Repertory Theatre
Clowes Hall Performances
Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra
Teen and Family Events
Annual Ski Trip to Mad River Mountain
International Fair
Science Fair
Stanford Testing

The programs are a recital presentation of the students' classes.  It is an opportunity for parents to enjoy watching what their children have worked on during their class time, meeting other families and sharing in a sweet time of fellowship at the end of each semester.
