|Quilting Lessons with Donna White Moscinski
Welcome to moquilt.com. I am a quilter. I quilt because of color and design. I quilt because I love to create a finished product that is different from all others.
Teaching quilting is as important to me as the creation of quilts. I have worked with children, adults, and even non-English speakers. I am in LaGrange, a southwest suburb of Chicago. Contact me if you want a quilt or if you want to learn to quilt!

|4th Day Alliance
The 4th Day Alliance is a non-profit religious organization dedicated to proclaiming the Glory of God through astronomy (a Creation Astronomy ministry). We accomplish this primarily by educating the public about astronomy through star parties, lectures, and seminars, and by distributing magazines, books, tracts, and astronomy articles from a Biblical creationist perspective.
In 2004, Hurricane Ivan directly hit our Gulf Coast area. Our family endured losses during that time, of a job, things, and ...peace. A few people helped with food (and the Tennessee power guys who came down helped out with a bag of Snickers for the kids!), but the greatest help came in the area of education as somebody reached out a hand full of generosity to us.
As soon as we were back on our feet, as a "pay-it-forward" thing, I started a Yahoo! group called FreeHomeschool. There, people could post 100% free educational products they wanted to give away to anyone who may need just that thing. The only charge allowed was shipping.
FreeHomeschool grew in 2 years to over 3,000 members. Meanwhile, shipping costs rose, hurricane memories faded (Katrina was in 2005), and the freebies offered by members fell by such a large margin that for the most part, I was just posting free educational finds I'd seen around the internet.
I thought it would be easier to archive and more pleasing on the eyes to move the group to a blog format. I also wanted to reach out to all educators including parents & teachers who aren't homeschoolers, so named the blog, Freely Educate.
So that's the story of how Freely Educate came to be. Thank you for supporting Freely Educate by visiting, commenting, emailing me with finds, putting change in the tip jar or clicking on an ad. No matter what you do - even if you just come by and read it - you're helping us get the word out that education can indeed be free. We're proving it.
Do you want to pay-it-forward, too? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with freebies you've found, for advertising or review & giveaway information, or just to send a little encouragement. I love hearing from you!
|The Home School Foundation
O U R M I S S I O N
To bless homeschoolers and the cause of homeschooling.
O U R V I S I O N
To be a tool increasingly used by God both to address the financial hardships that hinder families from homeschooling and to bless the homeschool community.
H I S T O R Y
The Home School Foundation is the charitable arm of Home School Legal Defense Association. It was founded by HSLDA in 1994 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) with the original focus of helping other homeschool groups. God has since expanded our vision, however, to include needy families within the homeschool community. These two organizations are very closely tied in their mission to help and support the homeschool community.
We help families through several funds. In addition, we provide grants to homeschool groups within the United States and internationally.
All donations to the Foundation are from private sources with most coming from individuals. We do occasionally receive funding from private foundations, but we receive no public funds.
The Home School Foundation is located in Purcellville, Virginia, and every year helps hundreds of families continue homeschooling through hard times.
|Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA)
Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships, HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong voice when and where needed.
|Illinois Christian Home Educators (ICHE)
Illinois Christian Home Educators is a not-for-profit Christian organization composed of families dedicated to the success of home education in Illinois. ICHE was started in December of 1983 by four Christian families seeking the support and fellowship of like-minded home educators. They decided to form ICHE for the purpose of encouraging the formation of distinctly Christian support groups, compiling information to help form such groups, and making the information available to support group leaders

|Pizza Hut BOOK IT!
About BOOK IT!
BOOK IT! motivates children to read by rewarding their reading accomplishments with praise, recognition and pizza. BOOK IT! is simple for the teacher to use, flexible because goals match reading ability, and fun because achieving a goal is a great reason to celebrate. BOOK IT! was created in 1985 and currently reaches over 10 million students annually.
BOOK IT! runs every school year from October through March. The teacher sets a reading goal for each child in the class. A tracking chart and reproducibles are included to make it that much easier. As soon as a child meets the monthly reading goal, the teacher gives him or her a Reading Award Certificate.
BOOK IT! goals are based on reading ability. Number of books, number of pages, or number of minutes – they all work. BOOK IT! can also be used with the reading curriculum or as support for comprehension or intervention programs. For children not reading independently, the goal can be set where a parent or others read to the child.
Pizza Hut is proud of all BOOK IT! readers! The restaurant manager and team congratulate every child for meeting the monthly reading goal and reward them with a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza, BOOK IT! card and backpack clip.
Best of all, BOOK IT! materials are free to schools!

|50th Anniversary of the 1961 Freedom Rides
This winter the Smithsonian Institution and the National Endowment for the Humanities are offering a unique opportunity for students across the nation to learn from actual history makers about a fascinating and important chapter in the story of the Civil Rights Movement and the history of the nation. The National Youth Summit on the Freedom Rides on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. (EST) will allow students to discuss history with the people who were witnesses and activists on the front lines of the fight for justice. They will also engage in conversation with scholars, public historians, and most importantly, one another in this incredible webcast that joins live audiences in six cities around the nation.
