PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Fall Parent Night

This meeting is required, and we strongly encourage both parents to attend. For the 2018-19 year, we will meet at South Suburban Evangelical Free Church, at a time and date soon to be announced.  Our families will be notified with date and time updates as they are determined.

At the meeting, information will be provided about the coming year, fundraising info, and a chance to sign up for your preferred dates for classroom monitoring, snacks, etc. This is a adults-only event; childcare is NOT provided, but nursing babies are always welcome!

If you are unable to attend, please contact Jillian Palazzo at 651-262-4768 or Kathy Plitzuweit at 763-438-1990.

Parent Support Group

While the students are in class, at least one parent is required to participate in the Support Group time (if not serving elsewhere in the co-op).  Support group is a time for encouragement, instruction and prayer.  Each meeting is designed to address a specific topic to help you on your homeschooling journey. We also offer plenty of time to socialize, pray together, and have snacks. Our goal is to provide refreshment to the body and spirit while we walk this road together.

Cooperative Service and Support

HOPE is a cooperative which cannot function without the service, commitment and participation of each family involved.  Every family is required to participate in the duties of the co-op through one or more service positions.  Service positions include duties in the following areas: facilities, field trips, homerooms, yearbook, fundraisers, service projects and other special events.  Upon registration you have the opportunity to rank your service position preferences and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences.

In addition, the attending parent will serve as a classroom monitor twice a year.  This classroom assistant remains with one of the classes throughout the co-op day providing assistance to the teacher as necessary and maintaining classroom order.

Supporting and praying for the co-op, its teachers, and members are also vital parts and purposes of HOPE.
