Team Policy Debate
Team Policy Debate: Research-based debate in which teams of two advocate for and against a prescribed resolution. Cross-examination is also involved as a 3-minute questioning period after each constructive speech. Simplified: The Affirmative Team presents a plan as a proposal for implementation of the resolution. Negative teams demonstrate why the plan should not be enacted.
Students who participate in Team Policy debate develop strong research skills, critical thinking abilities and learn to present organized persuasive speeches with a limited amount of preparation time.
