New Elizabethton Co-Op Members
Welcome to TEACH Elizabethton!
We are honored you chose to join us on your homeschool journey. TEACH Elizabethton (aka Etown) is designed to be a smaller, more intimate co-op. To keep that design, we have capped our membership at 35 families.
We offer classes for nursery through graduation covering a wide variety of topics. We encourage our teachers to challenge our students and offer classes you might not be able to offer at home.
TEACH is a cooperative which means we rely on members to teach, assist, and work together to keep things running smoothly. We ask our members to teach at least once per year to help balance the workload. If you did not sign up to teach, then you can pick your volunteer placement during our member meeting to kick off the semester. You can choose to assist in the nursery, your child's class, or any other grade. We also have a need for working the front desk, security, and cleaning. *Volunteer placements are first-come, first-serve. If you have a particular class in mind you want to work in, do not miss sign-ups at the meeting!
We meet in Elizabethton on Monday's with class options from 9am-2pm. Feel free to stay the whole day or pick the hours/ classes that work best for your family.
A glance at a day at co-op could look something like this:
After you arrive, pick up your family's name tags and head to your child's class first then off to your volunteer placement. Classes start at the top of each hour so plan to arrive at least 10 min early to make sure you're settled in and ready to start on time. Classes dismiss at 5 minutes till the next hour to give students time to switch rooms and get ready for the next hour.
Lunch is scheduled for 12:00-12:45. In efforts to ensure the health of our members due to COVID-19, we will not be offering prepared lunch. Please pack lunches for your family or shop one of the many local drive-thrus.
After lunch, join us for club hour- get to know one another and build relationships!
Our leadership team works hard year-round to make our co-op successful. If you have any questions or would like to speak to someone about teaching a class, reach out to our team.
