Junior Achievement
YAY, it’s back! The South Jersey Chapter of the Junior State of America has teamed up with Junior Achievement once again to provide interesting and interactive classes on economics and civics for students in grades K-7. Our JSA high school students have had very successful teaching experiences in area school districts as well as our own programs over the last five years to the homeschool community. Here are the exciting details:
WHAT: A one-afternoon, individual grade level, interactive class on financial literacy and civics for grades K-7
WHEN: Thursday, December 17th from 1-4:00 pm. Registration opens at 12:45
WHERE: NEW location this year- Shawnee Baptist Church, 303 Oakshade Rd, Shamong, NJ.
COST: The price for the facility is greater this year, but we are keeping costs low and bringing this course to your family for $5.00 per child with a $12.00 family maximum.
REGISTRATIONS are being done on line through the Google form that can be found at this link.
Questions surrounding the event can be directed to Rochelle Gill atsjhomeschoolsignups@gmail.com or Debbie Boyajian at debraboyajian@gmail.com . Parents do not need to stay on the premises and may rather enjoy some time to do Christmas shopping!
The curriculum starts with a basic understanding of family and community at the younger ages, and progresses to more global regions and broader economic topics in the upper grades. This is a terrific way to reinforce or introduce entrepreneurial and economic material to your students in a very appealing and interactive way. The classes will be run by the high school students who have been trained and who have also taught this already in a school setting. We hope that by providing this instruction annually, your children will be able to access the whole scope and sequence of this curriculum.
