CHEF State Homeschool Convention
Thinking about Homeschooling or in the early years of homeschooling?
There are wonderful national conventions available to families, or parents who can take the time and have the resources to travel to another city, purchase hotel accomodations and eat out or sandwich it in a hotel room. (Teach Them Diligently and other great national or regional conventions)
HOWEVER, our much smaller state homeschool convention sponsored by Christian Home Education Fellowship is celebrating 30 years of ministry to Alabama homeschooling families. The convention will be the weekend of June 22-23 at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church right off of AL 119. Early Registration ends May 31. This is an inexpensive opportunity for you to encourage yourself, or inform yourself and bring a friend thinking about home schooling. The following clip is from one of the speakers, a homeschooling family of 8, married for 25 years, whose dad was actually scheduled to be on the American Airlines flight from Boston on 911. They have a family ministry called Character Health and podcasts about parenting.
There is a 10$ registration discount if you register prior to May 31. Use promo code listed on the website. A full family admission includes both parents, children and grandparents for both the exhibit hall, used book sale and any parent workshops. There are separate teen and children's workshops for a small fee if you would like to have your children occupied while you shop or go to your own workshops. Discounts for first time homeschooling families whose oldest child is 4.(Event Bright does have its own fee for handling online registrations)
