A Literature Based Approach to Education
Carole Joy Seid is a veteran homeschool mother who holds a B.A. in fine arts, a master’s degree in education and is a CPLC certified life coach.
She has taught in preschool, elementary, and junior high classrooms in both public and Christian schools as well as spoken at numerous conventions. In addition, she does educational consulting for families across the country. Carole believes that by reading
great books, your children will benefit not only academically, but in terms of character development, problem solving skills, spiritual maturity,
social intelligence and relationships. At the core of her philosophy is the secret to educational success: great books, great books and more
great books
The comprehensive all day seminar format provides opportunity for in-depth coverage of many topics, as well as allowing you to interject your own questions and concerns. The pace will be exhilarating yet personal. The day will consist of four workshops:
I. DEVELOPING A PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
Learn about reading readiness, child development, and why boys learn so much differently than girls.
II. HOW TO MAKE YOUR CHILD A LOVER OF BOOKS
Receive lists of books your children will love to read.
III. TEACHING HISTORY USING CLASSIC LITERATURE
Teach history, art, music and science with time line sources and sequence handouts of Western Civilization.
IV. CREATIVE CURRICULUM
Design your own curriculum for math, science, handwriting, grammar & foreign language.
Cost: $45 online by March 18 (spouse attends for free)
