Thank you for dropping by the Christian Home Educators of Habersham (CHEH) website! If you have found us, then it is likely that you are either already homeschooling your children or you are looking into homeschooling your children. Either way, we welcome you to check us out!

Christian Home Educators of Habersham (CHEH) is a Christian homeschool group in Habersham County, Georgia.  Our group is focused on supporting local homeschool families through parent support, curriculum support, play groups, and field trips.  Let's enjoy nurturing and educating our children, together!

We, the Christian Home Educators of Habersham County, Georgia, base our standards of excellence in education on the foundation set forth by the infallible word of God, the Bible.  We follow the example of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as the greatest teacher of all time.  We lift up and support one another through prayer, fellowship, and sharing of ideas and information, always maintaining the highest integrity and love for one another's unique gifts and talents.  We are a non-denominational group where Christian standards and values are shared by all.

Simply put, our mission is to provide support to like-minded Christian parents. We want to help each other raise our children with academic excellence and Christ-molded hearts. We come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and we employ a wide variety of educational methods and curriculum. What we have in common is that we love Jesus and we love each other.

Join us as we fellowship with one another and “socialize” our children (just kidding!):

Field trips are sponsored monthly and have included the Georgia Aquarium, wildlife exhibits, dairy farms, plays, fire stations, planetariums, museums, the local jail, funeral homes, restaurant kitchens, etc.

Annual family activities are special and include the Kick-Off Picnic (or “Kicknic”, as we like to call it), Christmas party, science fair, Valentine’s Day party, field day (complete with specialized toys & equipment), geography dinner, teen-only events, and a year-end graduation ceremony and reception.

Park days are a wonderful time of play for the children and fellowship for the parents.  We welcome all families to join us twice a month as we play on playground equipment as well as organized games such as kickball, soccer, basketball, etc.

Yearly membership dues help maintain this website. On the member side of this site, we have forums where members can discuss different activities, ask questions, and seek advice about curriculum or other recommendations. We have a group calendar where our monthly schedules get posted so members always know what is happening. We also have web sign-ups for all events, which is really nice when you want to check to see if your children’s friends are attending certain events. The member side is exclusive to CHEH members and there are never any ads or distracting popup windows. It is a secure site for our group.

The biggest benefit to joining CHEH is that we are a family of like-minded Christian parents raising our children to the glory of God. We share so much life together here in the trenches of educating our children. The close-knit friendships among the parents as well as the children are the kind of relationships where deep burdens are shared, and tangible help is given. We try to provide meals to families who have new babies or sickness. We rejoice when families adopt new children. We support each other through prayer and encouragement.

We would love to have you come meet us. Our park days are always open to folks wanting to investigate whether our family is a good fit. We welcome you and hope you want to join the CHEH family, too!
