FAQs

What is the purpose of this homeschooling group?

Our group provides a supportive, community-driven environment where homeschooling families can connect, share resources, participate in parent-led classes, field trips, and social events.

Is there a membership fee?

Yes. We charge a semester fee of $20 for the first child and $15 per additional child to cover group expenses like supplies, events and parties and incidentals.

Where and how often do we meet?

We typically meet Mondays in Fayetteville from 10:30-1:30

Do parents need to stay during co-op?

Yes. We are absolutely not a drop-off co-op. Our handbook is very detailed about this.

What types of classes or activities are offered?

Our group offers a variety of classes based on parent volunteer interest and availability. Common subjects include science, art, music, physical education, and literature. We also host parties and other events for members.

How are classes assigned or chosen?

We host a planning meeting available to all those interested in participating. There, we pool ideas an interest. Once we have acquired the teachers to volunteer for the suggested classes, we do registration, where families select classes based on age group and interest. Classes have limited space and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are classes religious or secular?

We are a secular group, though members of all faiths are welcome.

Are siblings welcome?

Yes! We strive to provide options for multiple age ranges and encourage whole-family participation. They must be registered if they are participating in preschool etc but if they are not, they are welcome to hang out with parents in the big room, play outside, etc. However, siblings cannot tag along to classrooms!

What is the parent’s role?

Parents are expected to contribute by teaching, assisting in classes, helping with set-up/clean-up, or organizing events. This helps keep the group running smoothly and fosters a strong community. We will assign preschool parents on a rotational schedule to help out the preschool teacher, and other parents are required to be on a rotation to help with the other duties.

What if we can’t make it to every session?

Regular attendance is encouraged for those enrolled in classes, but we understand life happens. Please communicate any absences to the group leader or your child’s teacher in advance. We maintain the right to drop your student(s) if there are several uncommuncated absences. Please refer to ur handbook for detailed information.
