Clarification of Cole's Classes

                              What Cole's Classes are NOT:

Cole's Classes are NOT "school", nor is it a comprehensive high school "program". It does NOT take the place of a student's daily HOME/Public/Private education, but supplements it with selected classes, such as lab sciences, math, history, and apologetics. Parents are expected to partner with their students' mentor to offer guidance, accountability, and homework help as needed the remaining 4 days of the week. In order to round out a fully credited high school education for their student, parents will also need to provide instruction AT HOME/OR SCHOOL for any subjects not covered by Cole's Classes.

What Cole's Classes Costs:

-- Annual NONREFUNDABLE membership/admin fee: Cole's Classes members pay a NONREFUNDABLE annual membership fee per family (paid by Paypal to Dani Cole for membership, website costs, and administrative costs). $25/year in order to register.

-- Tuition for selected classes: Cole's Classes members pay tuition for any classes their students enroll in thru Paypal on a monthly basis.  If you wish to pay more than monthly, you simply click on the boxes of classes you would like to pay. Tuition ranges from $270 to $360 per year depending on the subject.  Invoices are sent out monthly.

-- Drop date and refunds: Unless you pay in full and drop by the drop date, you may receive a refund minus the month of instruction/lecture and labs.  The drop date is the end of Sept. Class emails of lectures and labs will not be sent to you unless you pay tuition on time at the beginning (the 1st) of each month.  There are no refunds for the $25 membership/admin fee.  You may drop anytime but if you were emailed lecture and lab material, you will not be refunded for that month even if it's for the first week of the month.  You will need to notify Cole's Classes of your intention to drop BEFORE the month starts.

-- Books for selected classes: Books for each class must be purchased online. Books are NOT part of your tuition.  Pictures of the books with ISBN numbers are provided on the class descriptions pages.

-- Science labs for selected classes:  There are extra labs (animal dissection) that are optional and are to be completed at home. These optional labs will be on video if requested. The cost of extra lab kits is NOT included in your class tuition and ranges from $50-$75.  Please contact me if interested.

Statement of Faith

Please review my Statement of Faith below...

Cole's Classes are centered around the Statement of Faith.  The curriculum used has a biblical worldview. If you do not believe in the statement of faith or want your high schoolers to have a biblical worldview, please DO NOT JOIN.

I, Dani Cole, the mentor at Cole's Classes, believe:

• There is one eternally existing God in three persons – God the Father, God the Son (who is the Lord Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. (John 17; Acts 1; I John; Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7; Matthew 3:16; John 1: 14, 18)

• The Holy Bible is the living, inspired, and infallible Word of God and is profitable for doctrine, correction, and instruction in righteousness. (II Timothy 3:16) All 66 books are without error, in whole or in part; and constitute God the Father's completed and final revelation, which will not change or fade away. (Psalm 119:152; Luke 16:17; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 24:35)

• Mankind was created by God in the process of a literal seven-day creation period; and that the first man, Adam, chose to willfully turn his back on God through disobedience (sin), which resulted in him being relationally separated from God. That sinfulness has been passed down to each following generation of mankind, [except for Jesus Christ,] separating them from God, as well. As a result, mankind has a bent toward evil and not good. This bent is called sin. (Gen. 1-3; Rom. 3:23)

• Because of His love for mankind, God provided through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the sacrifice that satisfies the demands of His justice (John 3:16; I John 2:2). Those who trust in Him experience forgiveness for all their sins (I John 1:9; Colossians 2:13-14) and a new, restored relationship with God. (I Peter 2:9). Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-35), lived a sinless life, sacrificed death for our sins (I Peter 2:24), was resurrected from the dead (John 20:26- 27), ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9), and will return again to judge the living and the dead (Acts 17:30-31; I Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 19:19-21) Jesus is the way to God, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:6) There is salvation in none other, for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

• Man is saved by grace, through faith, and not of his own efforts, regardless of how good or well-intended. It is a free gift of God. Salvation is only by the finished work of Jesus Christ.(Eph.2:8-9)

• The greatest commandment given to man is to love the Lord God with all of his heart, soul, and strength. We are commanded to teach this truth to our children. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7) The second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. “ (Matthew 22:37-39)

• Obedience to God is better than sacrifice (Proverbs 21:3); and true greatness is demonstrated in the life of those who serve others. (Matthew 20:25-28) The Christian life lived out:

• I believe that marriage was ordained by God at Creation as the sacred union of one man and one woman. Sexual intimacy is divinely commanded to be reserved for that union. (Gen. 1:26-28, Matt. 19:1-10, I Cor. 6:9-10, Heb. 13:4)

• I believe that each person is “fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God as either a male or a female (Ps. 139:14; Gen. 1:26-27) and that one’s gender is determined by God prior to his or her birth and is immutable.

FAQs

1) As a member do I have to agree with your statement of faith?
No, but by pursuing membership, you agree to disagree and agree to use the curriculum with a biblical worldview.

2) Do I have to have a Paypal account to be a member?
Yes, it is easy to set up and use.  A Paypal button is on the footer of the website.

3) Is Paypal attached to a credit card or my bank account?
It is attached to your bank account AND if you would like your debit card AND any credit card you wish to use. It's wonderful nowadays where we are shopping more online.  Paypal is used on other sites as well.

4)Does the class fee include the book or lab fees?
Each math class and other classes at the moment do not have labs.  The science classes include lab videos and labs that you can do at home.  So the Science classes are higher for that reason.  Biology, Biology II and Marine Biology have an optional lab kit that you would have to order, ($60) otherwise, I will offer a video for the dissection of a frog, pig, clam, or shark. The membership/admin fee of $25 is separate from your class fees.

5) Do I have to pay for my classes all at once?
No, you can be billed monthly for 9 months. Tuition is due on the 15th or middle of the month from August-April.

6) How do we turn our homework in.
Scan your work/papers on a printer and upload your homework onto the assignments page.  The mentor marks which answers are incorrect and give a grade.

7) Where may I find my grades?
Grades are found under each class for each student.

8) What if a student gets stuck on a problem or concept?
A student will have access to the mentor's cell phone and email address.  The student may ask questions at any time. The mentor may not answer right away but will get back to the student as quickly as they can.

9) Where do I find my assignments?
Under each class home page, there is a list of assignments, instructional media, attendance, assessments and grades.

10) How do I know what chapter we are on?
Each class has a detailed syllabus you can follow and found on each class page.

11) How do students take quizzes and tests?
Quizzes and tests will be emailed in the forum to the student or available on the assignments page for a short amount of time.  They can scan their work on a printer and upload them to the assignments page.

12) What about class handouts?
Handouts will also be available to download from a forum email or off the assignments page.
