Phoenix HEAT Wins Arizona State Top Prize

Phoenix Home Educated Archery Team (Phoenix HEAT) placed first the High School division during the 2018 Arizona Archery in the Schools Program State Championship held at Ben Avery Shooting Range March 3, 2018.

Six archers also received top individual awards and the team qualified for the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Nationals tournament to be held in Sandy, UT on April 13-14, 2018.

Five HEAT archers received individual awards in the 2018 NASP 3D State Championship on the same day.

The Phoenix HEAT have been part of the Arizona Game and Fish Archery in the Schools program for nine years and is currently coached by Head Coach Susan Konves, and assistant coaches Lori Johannsen and Kim Corens.

This is the fourth year the Phoenix HEAT will participate as a team at the NASP Nationals competition.

Phoenix Heat Wins Western Nationals

On April 14, 2018, for the first time in Arizona history, a local youth archery team, Phoenix HEAT, won first place in the National Archery in the Schools (NASP) Western National Tournament. This victory secured their place to compete at the World Tournament to be held June 7-9, 2018, in Louisville, KY,

The team needs your help!

During the past season, each member of the Phoenix HEAT endeavored, not only to prefect their archery technique, but also to earn the money needed to travel and compete at Nationals in Salt Lake City.

The unprecedented Nationals victory earned the team a coveted place at Worlds. Unfortunately, there is a short turnaround time to prepare, both competitively and monetarily.

On average, it costs $1500, per archer, to travel to Louisville and compete in the NASP World Tournament.

This is where you come in!

Donations, of any amount, to the team for their 2018 World Tournament expenses are GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Phoenix HEAT is a 501(c)3 organization and would be happy to supply you with a receipt for your records.

Thank you! GO Phoenix HEAT!
