About EPIC

Welcome to EPIC, a dynamic homeschool co-op rooted in Christian values and dedicated to serving families with children in grades K-12. Our vibrant community gathers every Friday for a 12 week program, where learning transforms into an adventure of exploration and creativity.

At EPIC, we believe in the strength of unity and shared commitment. Parent participation is at the heart of our co-op, creating an atmosphere that fosters a sense of community and support. Together we embark on a journey of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and building meaningful connections with other families. Our mission goes beyond education; it’s about doing life together.

Join us at EPIC, where Fridays become a day of shared experiences, mutual support, and the joy of learning in a Christian-based, community-driven environment.

Is this a drop off co-op?

No, EPIC is not a drop-off co-op. We see EPIC as a vibrant community first and foremost, not just a place for homeschool classes. Because of that, we require a parent or guardian to remain on-site during class times. We deeply value parent involvement, whether it’s helping in classes, joining lunchtime fellowship, attending parent classes, or connecting during breaks. This shared experience is a big part of what makes EPIC so special.

What does a co-op day look like?

Our day begins with lunch at 12:00 PM. Families bring packed lunches, and this time allows us to fellowship, connect, and let the kids play and get their wiggles out before classes begin. At 1:00 PM, we line up for our first set of classes, followed by a second set at 2:00 PM. Each parent is asked to help or teach during one class hour and then has a break during the other hour to relax, fellowship, or attend an optional parent class.

Do you have teens?

Yes! At EPIC, we have a heart for teens. We recognize the unique challenges families often face when homeschooling through the teen years, such as limited resources and social opportunities, and we aim to provide meaningful support. Our goal is to assist parents by offering challenging classes that meet the specific needs of teenagers, helping prepare them for graduation, life beyond high school, and potential college paths.

In addition to academics, we strive to create a rich community experience for our teens through special hangouts, volunteer opportunities, and events designed just for them. Your teen’s educational and social journey matters to us, and we’re here to make it both enriching and fulfilling.

Are parents required to teach a class?

While EPIC depends on the ideas and involvement of parents to help lead classes, we understand that teaching isn't for everyone. We do encourage parents to consider teaching a subject they enjoy, helping in preschool, or even co-teaching to ease into the experience. However, teaching is not a requirement. All we ask is that parents are willing to be a class helper and support the classroom environment in some way.

How are classes chosen?

We love when parents share their ideas and passions! Members are encouraged to submit class proposals for the upcoming semester—whether it’s LEGO, chemistry, art, or something totally unique. Teach what you love, and don’t be afraid to get creative.

We also welcome suggestions for classes you’d love to see offered by others. We gather all the ideas, and then the community votes on the top choices to help shape the next semester’s schedule. Our goal is to give families as much say as possible in what EPIC offers, making it a true reflection of our community.

What are the fees per semester?

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $51 per family. This fee covers insurance, website and facility expenses, as well as a background check for one adult. Additionally, there is a class fee that helps cover class supplies. This fee varies depending on the classes chosen and the amount of supplies needed for the semester. It's important to note that class fees cover the full 12-week semester. We strive to keep costs as low as possible so that all families can afford to participate. Class fees typically start at $5 per class, but for some classes, such as cooking or art, the fee could be closer to $20.

When are fees due?

For new members, the $51 registration fee is due within one week of acceptance into the co-op. This fee is non-refundable and secures your spot for the upcoming semester.

For current members, the registration fee is due within one month of the end of the current semester to hold your spot and receive priority registration.

Class fees are due two weeks before the new semester begins.

We also host a fun community event before each semester, these events are a great chance to meet other families, go over important information, and take care of any remaining payments.

Do I have to sign a statement of faith?

No, signing a statement of faith is not a requirement. However, we kindly ask families to respect the co-op statement of faith and commit to upholding it’s standards. While we strive to be accepting, it’s important to note that the co-op is founded on biblical principles. Families should understand our commitment to raising children with a biblical worldview and refrain from teaching anything that contradicts these principles. Your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a harmonious and faith-based co-op community are greatly appreciated.

What should we bring for a day at EPIC?

Each student should bring a packed lunch to enjoy during our lunch hour at 12:00. This is a special time for fellowship, connection, and play before classes begin.

We also ask that students bring a backpack with their own basic school supplies, including pencils and a sharpener, glue, crayons or colored pencils, markers, and scissors.

A water bottle is recommended for use during class.

For preschool and pre-K students, please also pack a small snack for the second hour of class.
