Fun and challenging classroom activities and worksheet based homework are combined to prepare fifth through eighth grade students for algebra, to use math in real life, and to succeed in high school math courses.
Topics in this course include basic math facts, fractions, decimals, percents, geometry, and algebraic thinking (pre-algebra).
Students can expect approximately 30-45 minutes of homework per day, depending on pace of student. Parents will spend 5-10 minutes on scoring each day.
Students who complete this class in 7th or 8th grade should be ready for Algebra ½. Math the Middle Grades may be taken more than once as curriculum is on a three year rotation.
This course is an excellent choice for students who need a little more help in math before entering algebra, or who need a little more time before they are ready for algebra.
