Join your friends in this Choir experience for an exciting 90 minutes each week of singing together and exploring the passion of music!
Enroll in this class and build confidence in your singing voice and music skills while preparing choir selections for a student concert!
This secondary choir experience will take into consideration the student enrollment and music will be chosen to complement the size and the talents represented in the class.
Vocal techniques taught will include how to properly warm up the voice, correct posture, correct breathing skills, proper diction, tone production, musical expression, harmony skills with 2-4 part music, how to read vocal choir music and basic music theory.
Music will be selected from a wide variety of styles including Classical, Jazz, Folk, Contemporary Christian, Pop and Musical Theatre Show Tunes.
Each student will receive vocal coaching.
Solo and Ensemble work will be included by audition.
Music History and listening may be included in this class period.
A student choir concert at the WEST Showcase will be included at the end of each semester.
Participation of each choir student will be required in the concert.

Length: Year long classes; with the encouragement to stay in CHOIR and build skills year after year at WEST
Grade Level: 6th-12th grade
Class Tuition: $180 per semester, plus $10 music supply fee.
Class Size: Minimum 10 students
Prerequisite: No prerequisites
Homework: Student will be expected to work on music at home.
