This literature class will use the “Teaching the Classics” curriculum available through the Institute for Excellence in Writing. Students will be guided in studying character, plot, theme and other literary tools used by authors to communicate their message as we read and explore three books over the Spring semester.  Each book will have two writing/creative projects and I will be doing some teaching in the art of essay writing at a high school level.  The books for the Spring class are O Pioneers! by Willa Cather, The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway, and The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe.  New students are always welcome!

Angela Weaver has taught music, drama, art, and literature for Friday Arts and Fun since the Spring of 2006.  Her first priority is homeschooling her two boys and she also teaches Kindermusik at The Academy of Fine Arts and directs her church’s choir.

There is a one time $5 copy fee added to the first month class fee. The second and third month will only be $16 each.
