HOMESCHOOLING 101

How to Begin Homeschooling:

1.  PRAY:  Seek God's guidance and will for your family.  This is a big decision and it needs to proceed under God's direction.

2.  STUDY GOD'S WORD:  Use Scripture as the foundation for your homeschool.  Here are some passages that SECHE parents recommend to instruct and inspire:

Matthew 6:33

Deut. 6:6-9

Jeremiah 6:16

Proverbs 22:6

Ezekial 36:26-27

Proverbs 22:15

I Corinthians 15:33

Isaiah 40:11

Deut. 32:2

Psalm 78:4-8

2 Timothy 1:17

Isaiah 28: 9-10

Psalm 1:1-3

3.  READ SOME GOOD BOOKS ABOUT HOME EDUCATION:  Suggestions:

4.  ATTEND A CONFERENCE:  We have an excellent annual spring conference in Sioux Falls, details are on this site. There are also good conferences in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and Nebraska.  Conferences are an amazing way to get ideas, curriculum, encouragement, and fellowship.  They are valuable for new homeschoolers and veterans alike.  We strongly recommend them to all our membership.
