I am a dyslexia specialist and working toward becoming a certified academic language therapist. My training is through Rawson-Saunders Training Institute, founded in 2006. Their training program provides research-based, multisensory approach for teaching the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling to all students, including those students with language-learning difficulties, especially dyslexia. Basic Language Skills is an adaptation of Alphabetic Phonics developed at the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Basic Language Skills is an upgraded, comprehensive, sequential curriculum for basic instruction in reading, writing, and spelling, utilizing mutisensory teaching techniques developed and researched at the Neuhaus Education Center in Houston, Texas.
