Conduct Code

This Conduct Code is the expected standard for all students and parents at all functions associated with Olivet Private School (OPS).  Parents are directly responsible for the behavior of their children and must serve as an example of proper behavior.  Common rules of courtesy and a high standard of public behavior are expected.

When the leadership of the function or of the school notes an infraction of an expressed OPS rule, an Incident Report will be written (copies will be issued to the parent, the OPS Administrator and put in the student’s file).  Incident Reports will be reviewed by the OPS Board to see if further action is needed.  Participation in or actions related to any of the following may result in, but not limited to, official reprimand, restriction from school activities, and/or suspension or dismissal from Olivet Private School.  Suspension or dismissal may be immediate or conditional.  Restriction from activities may include any or all Olivet sponsored events.

We at Olivet Private School believe the Bible to be the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.  This conduct code is based upon the principle of its words.

1) General continual disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

Let love be without hypocrisy.  Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.” Romans 12:10

2) Disrespect for authorities and or peers will not be tolerated. - Authorities include the adults responsible for Olivet functions or facilities being used by Olivet, Olivet Board members, and the student’s own parents.

“Let every person be in submission to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.” Romans 13:1

Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.  Honor your father and mother.” Ephesians 6:1

3) No Swearing (including coarse vernacular).

Let no unwholesome words proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29

4) No Inappropriate physical contact (i.e. roughhousing, fighting, punching, kicking).

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.  And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31-32

5) No Stealing.

Let him who steals, steal no longer; but rather let him labor, performing with his own hands what is good in order that he may have something to share with him who has need.” Ephesians 4:28

6) No Smoking.

7) No Possession or use of illegal drugs (Prescription drugs should be handled and administered by their parents or guardians ONLY).

8) No Possessions of alcohol.

Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?  If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him for the temple of God is holy, and this is what you are.” I Corinthians 3:16-17

9) No Possession of weapons (i.e. Guns, knives, etc.).

“Let every person be in submission to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.”Romans 13:1

10) No Possession of explicit sexual materials or explicit sexual behaviors .

For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passions like the Gentiles who do not know God; and that no man transgress and defraud his brother in the matter because the Lord is the avenger of all these things, just as we also told you before and solemnly warned you.” 1 Thes 4:3-5

“Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace,, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22

11) No Public display of affection between students (i.e. handholding, arms around one other, kissing).

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provisions for the flesh in regard to its lust.” Romans 13:14

12) No Violation of dress code.
