Let's Paint Run-A-Ways

Want to try your hand at painting? Or maybe learn a few more skills on canvas? Back by popular demand is the painting workshop from Let's Paint Run-A-Ways. Workshops will be 2 ½ hours long and are offered for conference attendees aged 7 – adult. The cost for each workshop is $15 and includes the required materials and instruction. Participants will complete an original painting in each workshop. Workshop registration is at the conference on a first-come, first-served basis. The workshop instructor, Connie Buskohl has recently been certified as a Mneme Therapist with The Art Without Boundaries Association and will be available after the Friday afternoon session to discuss this passionate pursuit.

Snappy the Squirrel

A returning activity that will be sure to thrill the little ones. Angie Batho-Barth will be joining us again this year to read her book Snappy the Squirrel: A lesson in Friendship, for children ages 3 to grade 5. The story is based around the golden rule and will be the basis for interaction and discussion.

Cartooning Camp

This exciting opportunity, provided by Dan Nuckols, will be offered as two, one day, independent camps of two sessions each. Whether you take the one or both days of the camp you're sure to learn and have a great time. So if you like to doodle, hone those doodles into the creation of fun and engaging cartoons. Event requires additional charges above cost of conference admission. Parents may join their children in the camps. We will be adding the registration link and additional details as soon as we have them.

Scrumptious Snack Fundraiser

We know how hard it is to concentrate over a growling stomach, but also understand that you can't leave the venue without missing something. So we've come up with a solution that can remove the rumble, keep you engaged and help SECHE. The Scrumptious Snack fundraiser will offer an opportunity to make a donation and enjoy a tasty morsel. This event will be located in the “Garage” across from the south end of the Vendor Hall.

Unattended Nursery

Need a place to let the little ones unwind? An unattended nursery is there to provide respite. The nursery is located just east of the Vendor Hall. Follow the hallway up the ramp and take a left. A room with toys and fun is on the right. Please note that the respite is not for the adults, the unattended nursery means you'll need to attend to your kids while they're there.

Session Recording

Had to flip a coin to decide which session to attend? Wondered what you might have missed? Wonder no more. Once again, audio of all the conference speaker sessions will be available in mp3 format. Conference attendance is required and service cost is $10. Paid attendees will receive a download link by May 11th.

Legislator, Pastor & Grandparent Complimentary Pass

Legislators, non-homeschooling pastors and non-homeschooling grandparents are invited to attend the SECHE Conference as our guests. SECHE does not endorse any political party, legislator or denomination but instead uses their attendance at the SECHE Conference to acquaint them with home education as a successful, proven educational choice. Please feel free to take a moment and introduce yourselves to them. Legislators, please bring credentials to receive your free pass.
