Fall Church School Administrators’ Meeting
Sponsored by CHEF of Alabama

When:  Saturday, November 2, 2013
Time:    9 am to 3 pm
Location: Dauphin Island (the physical address will be given upon receipt of the RSVP)

In light of the recent attempt by the Alabama State Board of Education majority to regulate non-public schools and HSLDA’s belief that further attempts will occur, CHEF has invited Stephanie Bell, a member of the SBOE and an advocate for homeschoolers, to be our guest speaker. Not only will she share her concerns about this regulation, she will also address the Common Core Standard Initiative and what it means to the future of home education.

We at CHEF of Alabama hope you can join us for this all important meeting. As Dee Black, HSLDA’s representative for Alabama stated, “The homeschool community in Alabama must be strong and organized to turn back the state’s efforts to regulate church schools.”  In order to be strong and organized, we must all be informed and united.  Stephanie will share her knowledge and answer your questions so that you, we, are better equipped.

Ron and Debbie Landry, recently returned from the National Association of Home Education Leaders (NACHEL) in Sandy Cove, MD, and the HSLDA National Leaders Conference in Turf Valley, MD, will share a portion of what they learned at these national meetings.

Always, we want to hear from you with your insights into state and national issues as well as your concerns, problems, and questions.  Therefore, there will be plenty of time for group discussion on what you deem important.

Breakfast foods, drinks, and lunch will be provided. Please let us know if you plan to attend and how many will be coming from your school.  Although there is no charge for this meeting, we will gladly accept donations toward the cost of food.

**A big shout out to Marnie Tabor, administrator of Creekside Academy in Florence, AL, for graciously offering us the space for our administrators’ meeting on beautiful Dauphin Island.  Thank you, Marnie!
