SIGN UP IS CLOSED

This year we will camp at Fort Parker State Park! This park is less than a 3-hour drive from Houston. You can visit the park website HERE.

We have 7 tent campsites reserved for 3 nights on March 15-18, 2023. All the campsites are for up to 8 people and have tent pads, picnic tables, campfire pits, water and electricity hookups. The park has bathrooms with hot water showers within walking distance of campsites. With our park pass you will not need to pay any daily fees. All our campsites are next to each other and near the playground, swimming area, and group picnic paviion. We have the pavilion reserved for our group on Wednesday through Friday. You can see a map of the park HERE.

Signup is for all 3 nights. Each campsite is $95 for all 3 nights. Individual families will camp in their own sites and provide their own meals. There will likely be a burn ban in effect when we camp, so we will not be able to have fires. We can cook with charcoal or propane stoves.

Payment is required at sign up. Sign up and payment deadline is March 5. Please sign up for the campsite you prefer. You will need to be logged in to the website to see the campsite signups.

Park Rules can be found HERE.

Description of the park:

On the banks of the Navasota, the past and the present collide. Two ecosystems meet here, too, and you can explore it all on foot, bike or kayak.

Enjoy swimming, fishinghiking and bikingcamping, picnicking, bird and nature watching, paddling and geocaching. Fort Parker offers some of the best sunsets in Central Texas, so bring your camera!

Explore seven miles of trails on foot or bike. Learn about the plants in the park along the .6-mile Bur Oak Trail.

See many park highlights along the two-mile Springfield Trail: the Springfield Cemetery, the Navasota River Springs that feed the river, the dam built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, and spring-fed Lake Springfield.

Paddle Fort Parker Lake and the Navasota River by canoe or kayak. Take the 5.3-mile Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail to experience both.

Drop a hook in 750-acre Fort Parker Lake, three-acre Lake Springfield, or the Navasota River. Catch channel and blue catfish, white and black bass, and crappie. No fishing license is needed to fish from shore on our lakes or the river, or from a boat on the lake. You will need a license to fish from a boat on the river. We have two boat ramps (one on the river and one on Fort Parker Lake), two fishing piers and a fish cleaning station. We loan fishing gear for use in the park.
