Here is another option for an entry into our May Art Show! Titled “View From the Ocean Floor” (Acrylic paint on canvas – see attached file for sample), this lesson will offer your 5-10 year old student(s) a chance to mix paint, follow directions and still end up with their own unique painting!
In this 1-hour session, children ages 5-10 will delight in painting an under water seascape!
Students will have the opportunity to understand the basics of color theory through hands-on paint mixing to create tints and shades of a primary color. They will then use the mixed paint to create a 12”x12” underwater seascape on canvas through an instructor-guided lesson. They will then personalize their picture by adding ocean elements and details – as many or as few as they like. Price includes all materials and venue rental. We encourage the students to leave their painting in the building if they wish to enter it into the Art Show as this is the same venue and the painting will not be damaged in transport.
Our instructor, Lindsey Stewart, is owner and operator of a mobile art studio, A Space to Make. She has 15 years experience teaching both art and special education to a wide range of ages and abilities.
Note: Participants, please dress in old clothing or bring art apron. Acrylic paint may stain clothing.
Note: There are NO REFUNDS as supplies need to be purchased in advance. However, should your child be sick the day of the event, Ms. Stewart is willing to give you a take-home kit and an abbreviated video so you do not lose your money. Pickup arrangements will be made on a case-by-case basis.
