Growth Mindset In Our Kids AND In Ourselves

Mindset. One simple shift to our mindset can change how we approach things that are challenging - both in us and our kids. Making a few subtle changes in how you interact with your kids can significantly impact how successful and resilient they become as adults.

We can help our kids see mistakes not as failure, but as opportunities.

Rather than avoiding challenges and giving up when they become frustrated, we can teach them about effort, growth and the the power of ‘yet’.

Instead of feeling resentful and less adequate when they see others succeed (like their siblings or their friends), we can show them how to be inspired because they see a model they can follow.

Come hear Dan Marcone as he explores ways we can shift from having a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. We’ll look at the benefits and unpack some practical strategies of how we can apply it to our homeschool days to help our kids grow not only academically but in their emotional intelligence.

Open to everyone, bring your friends!

About Dan

Dan Marcone was born in upstate New York to first generation Italian parents, and was raised in southern Florida. He played football in high school and then served as an Airborne Ranger in the U.S. military for two years before marrying Amy, his best friend and wife. After completing undergraduate studies in New Orleans, Dan directed a youth ministry in North Georgia. While working with adolescents and their families, Dan discovered his passion for counseling, which led him to return to school, graduating with a Masters of Mental Health Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. After serving as Director of Counseling for the Adolescent Life Coaching Center, Dan codirected Journeys Counseling Center and later founded Seasons Counseling in March 2014. In his spare time, Dan is devoted to studying new interventions, therapies and the latest research and trends in the field. The physiology and neuroscience behind trauma diagnosis and healing has been a main focus of intense study with application in his practice. Outside of work, Dan loves hanging out with his wife, three grown children and new granddaughter. His areas of specialization include trauma and/or abuse (emotional, physical and sexual), relationships, personal development, codependency, anxiety, depression, parent training, and teen issues.
