What: We get together to build houses out of graham crackers and royal icing, then decorate them with lots of festive Christmas candy!
Who: CFS Homeschoolers of all ages!
Why: Great fun and fellowship!
Cost: $5.00 per builder
Where: Living Way Church Ed Building
Details:
- Go to Michael's or other craft store and purchase a can of meringue powder.
- Make one full recipe of royal icing per builder! (Recipe included with meringue powder -- follow instructions carefully! Young children making small houses might be able to share a batch. Make it the day before or Friday morning.)
- Keep the royal icing fresh by storing it in an airtight container such as Tupperware or a Ziploc bag.
- Bring one pound of festive candy (or about 2 cups) per builder in your family to share with others. Choose from our list of candy and sign up for what you will bring so that we have a nice variety! (Bring around 2 cups candy per builder attending)
(If you prefer not sharing candy, you can simply bring a selection to use on your own.) - Arrive at 12:00 PM with your builders, your royal icing, your candy, and your Christmas spirit! (Bases, graham crackers, and plastic knives will be provided.) If you can come early to help set up, or stay later to clean-up --we'd LOVE your help!
