A little about HCS:
Each homeschool covering is different, and each family is looking to meet different needs through that covering. Whether you are looking for a covering that simply provides a legal umbrella, or you need a more active support network, we can help you navigate through all of the information and make an informed decision for your family.
For enrollment with Heritage Christian School, families pay a one-time registration fee of $25 per family. Tuition is $125.00/year per family, and membership in the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) is required. Membership in HSLDA is $100.00/year per family.
Upon enrollment, each family is assigned an advisor to help with any questions and make sure things are moving in the right direction. Parents are required to purchase curriculum, teach the material to their children and enter grades into our online grading program quarterly.
All families must attend our Kick-Off Meeting in August. This is a school-wide meeting that allows us to relay important information, gather paperwork, receive any unpaid fees, and present upcoming opportunities for involvement. All parents must complete a background check. This is a liability requirement mandated by our church, and is not optional.
We require students in grades 3 and above to take a standardized test near the end of their first year with HCS. It is recommended that students test in 3rd, 5th, and 8th grade, but many families choose to test every year as a way to monitor progress. We recommend that High school students take the ACT or SAT test.
