BHE is a group of military and DoD families dedicated to the home education of our children.We are committed to providing support and encouragement to one another and participating in activities that will enrich the lives of our children. We have members with children from infants through high school however families must have a child that is at least five (5) years old by September 30th of the current year. We attempt to plan activities that will appeal to all ages. Here is a list of just a few of the many things our group does -
Holiday parties, bowling, swimming, lego club, running club, and monthly Teen events.
Monthly field trips, Co-op, special events (ie. Spelling Bee, Science Fair, International/State Fair, and Geography Bee)
Monthly Mom's Coffee, park days, curriculum swaps
ITBS Testing, Yearbook, Seasonal parties, Parent’s night out, Kennedy center student ticket program and Teen events.
Because of the nature of our lives and the uniqueness of being Military/DoD homeschoolers, our goal is for this page to be kept private and only for military/DoD families who homeschool. As such, when a person requests to join this group, they will receive an email from our Admin team first to ensure they are military and homeschooling.
There is an annual fee of $25 per family due in September. Members joining late in school year from April through Aug have prorated dues of $15 covering end of school year until September.
Once approved, you can log into your membership account and pay the annual membership fee easily online, just log into your account, click the top account button and it will bring you to paypal. Payment can also be paid by cash or check can be made in person at BHE events.
What does $25 pay for? The annual fees are used to support the different activities the group provides such as co-op supplies, party supplies, awards and prizes, venue fees, website annual cost, and other miscellaneous expenses the group incurs.
