Welcome to the

The James River Eagles website is the athletics branch of the

James River Home School Foundation!

Just a reminder about Tuesday, June 23rd's Open House from 6:30 - 8:00pm at the Midlothian Campus of the James River Home School Foundation - Midlothian Baptist Church - 11840 Lucks Lane, Midlothian. Information will be available about the classes to be offered this fall; our lending library as well as our recreational, developmental, and interscholastic sports programs. Please come by and check it out.

Last year, several James River Eagle players, family members and coaches put together an outreach ministry called Players with a Purpose with a mission to share the love and hope of Christ to unchurched children through our basketball camp and connect them with a local church that will continue to love, minister and disciple them. Players with a Purpose traveled to Massachusetts last summer to serve along side with Hope for Kids - an organization that provides help and hope to kids in need through physical relief, spiritual renewal and authentic relationships. We were able to use our basketball ministry to tap into a hard to reach neighborhood and help Hope for Kids make connections with the children and families there.

We also served along side Kingsland Baptist Church in Chester, VA helping them make the same connection between unchurched children and that church. We had over 100 kids participate in our camp last year most of which were homeless or living in poverty. We provided a nutritional meal and snack, basketball skill training and games, praise & worship and Bible lessons teaching them starting with Creation to the Cross and their need for a Savior. God used these camps in an amazing way. Our team experienced and witnessed things that only God can do.
We are in the process of making plans for this year's basketball ministry camp and there are opportunities for you to be part of this wonderful ministry. First and most importantly, you can join us by beginning to pray for our team and the children we will come in contact with. We know that it is not by our power, but by God's that these children receive hope and salvation through Christ.
Secondly, we need help to raise the funds needed for the camp. Papa John's Pizza has agreed to let us sell their fund raising cards. These cards are a wonderful deal. For the price of $15 you get sixteen Buy One /Get One free large pizzas. That is less than $1 a pizza. The cards are good until 4/30/2016 and are valid with all 18 Richmond and surrounding areas Papa John's.
You can help support this ministry by participating in this fundraiser in two ways, 1) you can sell the cards and/or 2) you can buy a card from us.
All we are asking you to do is let your friends, families, Facebook friends, homeschool groups, etc. know about this great deal. Let Laurie Hay know at if tyou are interested. And for every 20 cards that you are responsible for selling, you will receive a free pizza from Papa John's. Thanks so much for all your prayers and help with such a wonderful ministry.
