HEY Days

The purpose of HEY Day Meetings is three-fold: to provide children of HEY member’s opportunity to participate in physical activity classes (PAC), inform members on current events at the group, community, and state level, and provide parents opportunity to share information on curriculum, community events, and other items of group interest.

PAC classes require an additional fee of $30.00 per child. Classes are organized by age groups 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and 13-18 and are led by paid coaches with assistance from volunteers. Each class runs approximately one hour.

Generally, HEY Day meetings will begin at 10:00am on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month starting in September and ending in May. The organized, Board led meetings will end at 10:45 with a 15 min break  during PAC classes.

During the break members will have time for sharing, a sort of show and tell. In the past, we have had a former homeschool graduate give a demonstration on hot air balloons, a commercial fisherman, and what it is like to be a homeschooler in Sweden. We welcome and encourage member input and the board will not be responsible for filling this time. We rely on members to fill this time of sharing with what you feel is interesting.  If you have an idea, please share your idea with the HEY President so he or she can get it scheduled. After the break we will end our meeting  and the PAC classes will resume. The rest of our time can be spent visiting, sharing, and encouraging one another. We also encourage members to pray for one another and to share any particular needs or prayer request.
