You Can Homeschool!
July 11, 2016
6:30-8:30pm
Blanchard Public Library, Meeting Room

Registration encouraged but not required. RSVP to janabelcher@yahoo.com

Come to this free, two-part workshop! We will answer lots of questions as to the Why's and How's of home education.

Part 1   will help you determine if home education is right for your family. We will explore the definition of education, and the history of education in America. What are the reasons to home educate your children? Is it legal in OK? Do I have to turn in records? How do you answer those who question your decision? What about socialization? Will my children have friends? What about sports programs? And many more questions you may have. This session will be 30 minutes long.

Part 2   will help you determine the best way to approach home education. How do you get started? How do you navigate the curricula choices? What are your children's learning styles? What is your natural teaching style? How can you effectively teach multiple ages within your family?  What happens during high school? What about a transcript? Will your children be ready for college? This section will also be 45 minutes, followed by a short (or long...) question and answer time.

So, instead of drinking from a fire hose, you can take a sip from the water fountain.

Meet and fellowship with those new to home education and those who have been at it for years. You'll leave encouraged and ready to start your family's new adventure!
