The Chickasaw Nation invites you to participate in a special event for Homeschool educators and students Thursday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Located in Sulphur, Okla., The Chickasaw Cultural Center has many indoor and outdoor features providing an opportunity to explore the history and culture of the Chickasaw Nation.

 

Homeschool Day will feature educational films, cultural classes and demonstrations, traditional games, stomp dancing, and horticulture tours. The animated “Spirit Forest” and other interactive exhibits in the state-of-the-art Chickasha Poya Exhibit Center provide hands-on learning fun. An extensive research center for students to study Native American history and culture or research their genealogy is located in the Holisso building which also houses a Special Collections room showcasing items from the Chickasaw Nation archives.

 

Join us on Sept. 22 for this special event and enjoy our special rate of $5 per student, which includes admission and a bagged lunch with a sandwich, chips, cookie, fruit and a drink. Groups will receive information packets with an updated curriculum and receive special guided tours.
