Mrs. Erin Welter To All Instructors
Erin graduated from the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campus with bachelor's degrees in both Communication Studies and Spanish Studies with a study abroad experience in Toledo, Spain. After several years of conducting medical research interviews in Spanish, she began graduate work at Hamline University to earn her K-12 teaching license with an emphasis in foreign language. Erin went on to teach Spanish levels I and II and to advise students through their senior capstone projects at an International Baccalaureate school in the Twin Cities.
Erin's love of the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures began in her high school years when her family hosted foreign exchange students from Paraguay, Chile, and Venezuela. God's plan brought Erin's family and their Venezuelan student's family together in marriage! (It's a beautiful story, so ask her about it!)
As Erin's sons entered middle school, she and her husband sought educational opportunities that better aligned with their Christian faith and so chose to begin homeschooling. WEST courses and its PSEO opportunities have been an excellent enhancement to their homeschool experience!
Erin looks forward to being in the classroom with Spanish-language students, instilling in them a love of the language and its wide variety of cultures, and helping them see the doors of opportunity a second language can open locally and abroad!
