Mrs. Julie Monseth To All Instructors
Julie is convinced she won the lottery with being given the opportunity to teach middle school History & Writing at WEST! She is a grammar nerd that stumbled upon the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) twenty years ago when her oldest two boys were in fifth and sixth grade. IEW was foundational in the homeschool education of all five of her boys. Julie is an Accredited IEW Instructor. One of her other favorite subjects to teach is history! She holds a strong belief that God has much to tell us through looking at the lives and events of people from the past. Studying how God has worked and moved in the past, informs believers how HIS story shapes today. Julie holds a B.A. in 1-6 Education and a minor in Bible from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul. She is wife to Nate (a public school teacher for 33 years), mom to five boys and a beautiful daughter-in-law, and grandma to three sweet little boys. Julie taught elementary school while helping to start up an American/International school in Dubai, UAE. After the birth of her third son, Nate and Julie returned to the US and homeschooled their children. Julie was the WEST Registrar for 10 years and is loving the tutoring side of WEST. In her free time, you’ll find Julie reading, traveling (most recently to Hawaii), taking walks, teaching piano lessons at her private studio, and binging on Masterpiece Theater period shows.
