Class Type: One-semester course offered fall semester only. This class has both online and face-to-face components. WEST PSEO courses have a low student to instructor ratio and are offered in a 15 week format. All PSEO students are supported by a dedicated PSEO academic advisor.
Course Description: Introduction to business and business strategy within the global economic environment. Identification of business structures, market strategies, and the concepts of leadership and management. Exploration of key business functions, typical roles, entry points, and career paths. Application of business evaluation and problem-solving within a Christian worldview.
Students need reliable internet access to complete the coursework.

American Literature - ENG 2510 - 3 credits (Crown College)

Course Type: One semester course offered fall semester only. Students from WEST can take classes in a hybrid format in which they meet for an hour and a half face-to-face with a qualified course assistant selected by WEST and approved by Crown. The rest of the weekly activities for classes are online, led by one of Crown’s online faculty members. This option gives students the opportunity to get support from a familiar homeschool course assistant while taking a high quality online course under the guidance of a credentialed faculty member from Crown. Course Description: An overview of non-dramatic literature of the United States, showing its development from colonial times to the present. Students also work individually and collaboratively to explore topics, works, and authors representing multi-cultural voices in the changing canon of American literature.

Course Description: This course emphasizes the fundamentals of effective writing in the context of the elements of rhetoric: writer, audience, and purpose. Students write narrative, informative, and persuasive compositions and a documented research paper.

Course Description: First year Spanish courses introduce the student to the sounds and structures of the Spanish language through listening, speaking, reading, and writing; this will provide the ability to communicate and understand Spanish in an elementary manner. The courses also establish a language basis for the study of Spanish and Latin American literature. Class size limited. Preference given to students taking both semesters. Others enroll with consent of the instructor.

Course Description: This course is an introductory course on selected topics in the history of major world civilizations that have shaped the foundations of mankind; from the earliest records of humankind through approximately 1500 AD. It is designed to familiarize students with the political, social, economic, religious, and intellectual histories of the world.

Statistics - MATH 260.PW01 - 3 credits (North Central University)

Prerequisite: College Algebra I or equivalent high school algebra experience
Course Type: This class has both online and face-to-face components. This hybrid format course has the same NCU faculty member meeting with the WEST students face-to-face that teaches the online components. WEST PSEO courses have a low student to instructor ratio and are offered in a 15 week format. All PSEO students are supported by a dedicated PSEO academic advisor.
Course Description: This statistics course includes a study in descriptive and inferential statistics, emphasizing measures of central tendency, probability, correlation and non-parametric statistics essential for research and interpreting professional studies. The primary goal of the course is to help students understand how the process of posing a question, collecting data relevant to that question, analyzing data, and interpreting data can help them find answers to real problems from their world.
Students need reliable internet access to complete the coursework. Students also should have a graphing calculator. A TI-83 or TI-84 is recommended, but not required.

PSEO Calculus Tutoring - 10-weeks by WEST

Intended Audience: ALL homeschoolers taking PSEO Calculus ANYWHERE
Course Description: This class is intended to serve as a tutoring session for students who feel they need additional help with their PSEO calculus class. It is designed for those taking any PSEO calculus class, regardless of where it is offered. All Calculus classes are similar because of the way that the material in Calculus I builds on itself. Students can come to class with their questions about the material and any homework problems that they are struggling with. We will also go over any quiz or test problems that they couldn’t figure out.
This is a ten-week course, with no homework, quizzes or tests. It is really just a place for students to get extra help in what can be a challenging college level course that they are taking.

Environmental Studies - ENS 100 - 3 credits (Bethel University)

Course Description: Examination of how science, engineering, and economics work together to address and solve environmental problems. Exploration of the importance of the scientific method as it relates to the environment, conservation of resources, and energy. Evaluation of case studies will develop a deeper sense of stewardship to our planet.

Course Description: This course is designed to give insight, appreciation, and understanding of the plant and animal world. Major concepts covered include cellular biology, biochemistry, photosynthesis and respiration, genetics, and embryology. Includes lab requirement. This course is recommended for non-science majors only. It should fulfill a General Science with lab credit. A laptop is required for class.
