What does S.E.E.K. stand for?
The acronym S.E.E.K. stands for Support, Encouragement, and Education for the Kingdom.
Is S.E.E.K. a homeschool support group or a homeschool co-op?
BOTH! We are a homeschool support group that also has a co-op which meets for classes on Fridays, September through April/May.
Is this a drop-off Co-op?
Our co-op only functions when all members are participating in their different roles each week. No, we are not a drop-off homeschool co-op.
I have small children, what will they do while I'm at my parent job during co-op?
When you fill out your parent job form each semester, you can add your preferences to inform how the jobs are scheduled. There are certain jobs that are well-suited to having little ones along. We also have a nursery and preschool classes staffed throughout the day for them to attend if desired. If the children are older and do not need constant supervision and are not in class, we have a gym, cafeteria, and outdoor area (weather permitting) open all day with an adult monitor present. Leadership has a list of where all the adult members are located each hour in case we would need to find someone in a hurry.
What is our co-op policy in the event that we have snow or other extreme weather conditions?
If our host church is open and operating, we will be holding classes.
Due to our location we have an advantage to having main roads that will get cleared quickly so we hope to not have to cancel co-op due to snow. However we understand that some of you do have more back country roads to get to us or live further away so YOU will need to make the decision for your family. If we have co-op on a bad weather day but you are unable to come please make sure to look for a replacement for your mom volunteer jobs. Then email your student's teacher to get assignments. We will instruct teachers to have grace for any students who miss on a bad weather day that we have decided to still hold co-op.
It is very hard to make up snow days especially for the high school for credit classes so we will take safety seriously but will do our best to hold whenever possible.

Why does my balance show I owe money but I have paid for all my membership and class fees?
The accounting portion of the website is not an accurate reflection, currently. Please disregard this balance but DO keep your own records for reference.
Do you require masks due to Covid?
We do not mandate masks. However, if you feel it is in the best interest for your family to wear them, you are more than welcome.

In addition to monitoring laws about homeschooling, HSLDA watches a wide range of issues that could affect the ability of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children. Our issues library shares what we have learned so that our members and friends can stay informed and join the fight to preserve homeschool freedom.
