S.E.E.K. Grievance policy (co-op)

GRIEVANCE POLICY

Using Matthew 18:15-17 as a guideline, we have established this policy for the resolution of disputes and grievances in the operation of S.E.E.K. co-op.  These guidelines are to be followed whenever there is a dispute concerning any aspect of S.E.E.K.’s co-op operations or between any two parties connected in a direct way with S.E.E.K. co-op.  This includes students, parents, teachers, and the leadership team.  The bible tells us in Matthew 18:15-17 how we, as followers of Christ, are to handle conflict.  This is the biblical way and the way of conflict resolution that is pleasing to Christ.

We encourage all members to first pray and seek the Lord when becoming offended. Please ask yourself a few questions when trying to ascertain if you need to take further action. Is this an offense that can be overlooked? Is this something that simply hurt your feelings, or something that is more serious? Is this something that needs to be brought to the attention of the offending party? No matter the circumstance, we want to avoid gossiping about the offense. If you feel that further action should be taken, these guidelines are to be followed:

Parent to Parent:

1. All concerns from one parent to another parent shall be brought to the respective parent in a direct manner.

2. If the problem is not resolved, the parent may bring the concern to the Leadership Team (also known as “co-op leaders”).

3. If there is still no resolution, the parent should request that the issue be brought to a meeting of the S.E.E.K. Board for resolution

Student/Parent to Teachers:

1. All concerns about the classroom must first be presented to the teacher by the parent and/or the student himself.

2. If the problem is not resolved, the parent may bring the concern to the Leadership Team.

3. If there is still no resolution, the parent should request that the issue be brought to a meeting of the S.E.E.K. Board for resolution.

Parents to Leadership Team:

1. If a parent has a grievance or dispute about the general operation of S.E.E.K. co-op, they should bring their concern to the Leadership Team.

2. If there is no resolution, they should request that the issue be brought to a meeting with the S.E.E.K. Board for resolution.

Matthew 18:15-17 (NIV)

15 “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector
