Home School Sports
Fairfax Home School Athletic Association (FHSAA)
Northern Virginia offers a wide variety of recreational sports opportunities in which homeschool families can participate, however, homeschoolers are legally excluded from public school sports teams. Therefore, FHSAA strives to provide athletes with a competitive sports environment where they can develop and hone their skills and compete against private middle schools and high schools teams at a high level. By both mission and practice, FHSAA is not designed to serve as a recreational sports organization.
RunFit Kidz
RunFit Kidz is designed to teach boys and girls of all fitness levels in grades 2-8 about proper running mechanics, nutrition/hydration, pacing, and goal setting. The 8-week program includes dynamic warm-ups, strengthening and speed drills, form, and stretching. These skills will be taught through games and activities to help give kids a better grasp of the concepts in a fun and safe setting. Our commitment is for children at all fitness levels to run better, faster, and smarter. The goal is for the students to end the program with increased running knowledge and enhanced love for being active. The program concludes with a 5k run which is held locally in the Springfield/Burke area.
